The Non-Stop teams will be starting their adventure a day later than the Wartrail staged athletes and we hope to meet up with them on the paddle leg. Their adventure is based on the principles of adventure racing with them having to clip CP’s on the route and their seconds helping them at transition. Tactics will play a major role in their event but more on this at race briefing.
This means teams of two, 3 or 4 will complete a 60-kilometer mountain run, a 120-kilometer MTB ride and a 65-kilometer paddle all back-to-back in an Adventure Race style event.
The race start line will open from 5 am on the morning of 19th March and teams must decide what time to leave in order to plan their race and avoid being caught in the dark zone before the paddle leg. The Start line will close at 11 am on the same morning. Team’s time starts only once they set off from Lady Grey (cross the start line) and will be accumulative until they cross the finish line in Aliwal North having covered over 270km. There will be a Dark zone in place up to 6.30am on Monday morning for the paddle leg, which starts at Mdlokovana and teams have until 8.00 am that morning to be on the river. Teams will be able to be second at the Transition Zones at Balloch and Lady Grey Country Club as well as CP7, CP9, and CP10 of the bike Leg. Race registration will be at the Lady Grey Country Club on Sat from 3 pm followed by race briefing Sat evening at 6 pm and then Dinner.
